I Smell Sex And... Braces!
Please say someone giggled at the title lol. I really need y'all's help with navigating my new braces and having sex. :') So for some background information, I'm a transmasc in a t4t relationship with a trans woman, I just recently started having sex, and I just got braces. My mouth hurts like hell from these new braces and it's getting hard to adjust to having them, and I'm worried about how having sex is gonna be with these on. I've heard mixed opinions on both the giving and receiving ends of kissing with braces and the negative opinions worry me a lot. I'm also worried about how in the hell I'm gonna give head to my girlfriend or eat her out when I have these paper shredders on my teeth for the next 18 months. I'm really worried about injuries on her end and mine. I prefer being a service top so y'all can see my conundrum with difficulty servicing her, of course. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you darlings!!

Hey basspixie,
Welcome to the boards!
And great title, haha! It makes total sense that braces sound like a big obstacle to the physical vulnerability of sex. I think, first off I want to say that while your braces may be uncomfortable or a bit painful at first, for you, that sensation will eventually (thankfully) subside as your mouth gets used to them.
For your girlfriend, and like a lot of other sex-related activities, starting slow and comfortable is the best way to figure it out together. If you haven't already shared these worries with your girlfriend I would definitely communicate this to her, just so she knows how you're thinking about this and what your concerns are. Then, together you can decide what you both wish to try. Since everybody's body is different and more or less sensitive to certain sensations, really the only person who can tell you what is going to work with your girlfriend is your girlfriend herself. She knows her body the best and if you decide to try together, knowing some things could be the same or potentially different than they were before, you can learn at the same time what works for both of you.
There are tons of people who get braces as teens or adults who have completely regular, normal for them, sex lives after the installation of braces. The best practice is just going to be going slow and figuring it out with your girlfriend. I know you were maybe looking for more specific advice but if you want some more info, here's another MB thread on similar concerns that might help you feel more comfortable knowing your absolutely not he only one to feel this way or ask these questions!

How are you feeling about this?
