Veins on breast
Hi! so the last time i came on here i talked about the fact that my boyfriend fingered me and i thought i was going to get pregnant but i was reassured that i wasn’t at all as the sperms are delicate but i noticed on my right boob that a new stretch mark? or vein? i don’t really know what it is as towards my inner breast it’s deep like a scar but as i follow the line it suddenly pops out like a vein, i don’t know if maybe im just overlooking my body. i did google about this (lol) and it said it’s possible it could be pregnancy or my period starting soon. my cycle should be starting in two days( thursday) and my boobs are hurting. I’m still a virgin i’ve never had sex but i’m still curious, sorry. what should i do? should i wait it out till i get my period and possibly take a test? or should i just be cool since all that happened was us fingering, i don’t know if you could see my previous board but i have the full explanation on there in detail. please let me know! thank you.

Re: Veins on breast
Hi nrai
This sounds like a vein to me, or possibly a stretch mark. Especially around the day your period starts, the breasts can start to feel a bit tender. This can also be accompanied by more visible veins, as there’s more blood flow to the area.
Too, because there was no pregnancy risk, you can be sure this is not pregnancy-related. But, are you finding yourself still anxious about pregnancy risk?

Re: Veins on breast
I am finding my self anxious just because his fingers were inside me and we thought maybe there was still some on it but there wasn’t. i know im most likely being dramatic but i get my period tomorrow and ill know by then. i talked to my mom and she did say she wants to take me to the doctor since my grandma does have breast cancer and doesn’t want to risk anything. I have a question tho, if your pregnant you develop veins or stretch marks on both breasts correct? cause mine is only on one.

Re: Veins on breast
Ah, I hear you on the anxiety. Do you think you can practice some self-care and anxiety-soothing techniques until your period comes? Do you have a routine for when you feel anxious, or would it be helpful to talk about building one?
I think your mom taking you to the doctor is a great idea. It’ll be really helpful to be able to talk to the doctor about what exactly you’re seeing on your breast, whether it’s a vein or a stretch mark, maybe both, or something else; and they can teach you about it too!
With pregnancy, it’s hard to say because everyone’s body is so different, and some people get more stretch marks and veins than others. During pregnancy, folks can get stretch marks and veins on both breasts.
However, plenty of folks also get stretch marks and veins on both breasts without being pregnant. Stretch marks simply mean your skin is making more space on your body, and that you’re growing. It’s also very common to develop stretch marks during teenage years as you’re growing fast. Veins mean that there’s blood flow to the breasts, which is normal to have at any point in time, and can be more pronounced/visible around your period. How does hearing that make you feel?

Ah yes that does make me feel better knowing it’s common but since i am already 16 i assumed my breasts would be done growing since i’m a 32D LOL this did really calm me down since i can’t talk to my mom about it as im not comfortable with her knowing my boyfriend and i have only had oral sex. what kind of anxiety soothing practices are there? i’ve never really thought about having one

I’m so glad this has helped a bit! You know, it’s very common for breasts to grow in size and shape throughout your life, and particularly so when you’re young.
We can certainly introduce some anxiety techniques here! I want to send you this article we have, it’s a list of resources for anxiety and mental health in general: Anxiety and Other Mental Health Resources. I would start with the link that says “basic self-help strategies,” and then work through and see if any other links seem helpful to you. There’s also an app for meditation in there, Headspace, which can also help when you need to feel-better-right-now. That’s my favorite one, but I think it’ll be good if you go through the list and see if you can identify any practices or techniques that sound helpful to you. Does that sound doable?

Re: Veins on breast
I am sorry to hear you didn’t have anyone to talk to about this. I can understand how that could potentially contribute to some of the anxiety when you feel like you can’t talk about it, but I am glad you can talk here. Maybe your mom taking you to the doctor could open up some conversations as well?
I hope some of those resources help a bit, and if you’re ever in need of more support or advice, we’re here for you.
