Is there any bras that are affordable and flatten everything (mostly) down?

Hi there! So I'm a 14 year old who has a big chest, and personally, I dislike having big boobs. I hate running or speed walking because their like bouncy balls glued to my chest, and just make me uncomfortable in general. I've been trying to find a bra that would support everything and also be comfortable at an affordable price. Is there any suggestions?

Hey Peanut!

I don’t have any specific product recommendations (perhaps someone else might), but a few things that you might want to consider are:
  • Trying out bras that are meant for activity, like sports bras, or a “high impact” bra
  • There are a lot of brands out there that will promise they have the ONE PERFECT BRA that will change your life and feel like a cloud and give your boobs magical powers. In truth, it tends to be a trial and error process.
  • Checking out This Thorough Subreddit where folks are passionate about helping each other find bras that fit. Fit is a tricky thing, since different brands will use the same labels to mean different sizes, and there is unfortunately a lot of social messaging around what different breast sizes mean. You can use their resources, search on the forum to see if other folks have similar questions, or post (but since you are under 18, they ask no photos of yourself, and for you to not post your age).
  • Comfort, unfortunately, is often deprioritized when designing bras, not to mention totally individual. If someone says a bra is perfect for them, but it sucks for you, send that baby back to the store.

Hi Peanut! So sorry to hear about your experience with having a large chest. :(

I'd like to add to what Mikky said; while this article of ours is directed to our trans and gender-expansive readers, I think it could be of help to you! Here's the article: Trans Summer School: Gender Expression Gear

Is there anything else I could help you with?

One more suggestion: there is a style of bra called a minimizer, which does what it sounds like. I still think a compressive sports bra is usually the best and cheapest bet, but these are a good choice for folks who want to look smaller but don’t like the uniboob thing a sports bra does.
