Is this normal?

Post by Mack520 »

Basically, I have a question about orgasms. I already know *how* to do that, that isn't the issue, it's just... Weird? In porn and explicit media like books and movies, there always seems to be noise during masturbation, especially if an orgasm is involved. I... Don't make any noise? Not during any part of it. Completely silent except for like bed creaking noises. Is that normal? I'm afab for reference

Making sounds during sex is something that often deepens the connection to the body during sexual activity and tends to intensify the experience. And sometimes people don’t because they are afraid to, or don’t have the privacy to.

However, sometimes people don’t because they’re just someone who isn’t particularly verbal, period, or sound-oriented, because the sex they have been part of so far just hasn’t elicited that in them, or because it just isn’t something that feels authentic to them. Like so much else with sex, it’s normal to make sounds, but it’s also normal not to, this is just one of many variations.
