Can my clit fall off?
Sometime last week, I was playing with myself and something fell out of me. It was a little pinkish white triangular thing that had a dipped, divided end. I was terrified (still am, honestly) thinking it was my clit. For context, when I was younger one time touched myself, I pressed too hard and it hurt. I was afraid I had injured myself (torn it open) so I kept off it for years. Fast forward now and this has happened.
I asked a relative and they said it was probably discharge that had hardened (it did dissolve a little under water) but my main fear is that it doesn't feel as protruded as it used to before, it just feels like skin, with reduced sensitivity. I'm really terrified, I can't mention it to my parents because sex ed isn't a topic spoken of here at home. Did I really manage to damage it?
(I should add that then and now, there wasn't any bleeding or pain, except for some pangs at my lower belly (my period is starting in about four days), but because it's no longer prominent to the touch as it was before I'm scared. I'm too afraid to even look at it with a mirror.)

Hi there, Viridia!
I'm sorry to hear that this has left you feeling so scared! Rest assured, you can't damage your clitoris through masturbation like this. The difference you've noticed in how it feels sounds very normal. The clitoris is a body part like any other, and can feel more or less sensitive over time without there being a problem. It tends to feel more sensitive or protruded when you are aroused, and might feel less noticeable otherwise. As your relative suggested, the thing that fell out was likely discharge.
We'd be happy to answer any more questions that you have.

Thank you, I really appreciate your reassurance. I really scared myself when I was younger, so seeing that come out of me was not great. Anyway, do you think there's a reason for the reduced sensitivity? I'm not doing anything different, so I can't say it's because of new products.

Hi Veridia,
The reduces sensitivity could be hormonal, which is normal. As Latha mentioned, your clitoris will feel more sensitive when you're aroused, since more blood is flowing to the area, so it will also look (and feel) larger. On the other hand, when you're stressed out, you're unlikely to get aroused (our primary sex organ is our brain!) and therefore it makes sense it will feel less sensitive and less prominent.
So it's likely the stress you've been feeling about this situation is what has caused the change you feel in your clitoris. My suggestion is to try doing things that will help reduce the anxiety, even if it means distracting your mind and body with something like exercise, a relaxing bath, etc. Since you can't damage your clitoris in the way you were worried you did, it's okay to rest easy about it. <3

Thank you, I feel reassured now (honestly still a little scared, but that will fade away).

Veridia: how are you feeling this week? If you're still feeling scared, we can talk more if you'd like and try and help you get on the other side of that.
