Condom broke, on birth control
So recently I had sex with my boyfriend, and after he came we noticed the condom broke. I’ve been on the pill for about a year now, but I had missed my pill two days ago and only took one the next day. I hadn’t taken my pill yet on the day it happened (earlier today), but I took it right after. Should I get plan b? Am I at risk for getting pregnant? What should I do?

Hi lilacjeans,
A missed pill should always be taken as soon as you realize you have missed it, but there is likely no risk from one missed pill or a need for EC. However, if it would make you feel more comfortable to take Plan B, if it's been five days or less since the incident that is still an option available to you.
If you're not sure why the condom broke, I suggest taking a look at this article, to help you avoid having to deal with a similar situation in the future: https://www.scarleteen.com/blog/heather ... n_it_wrong

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
