weird discharge?

Unread post by donkdonk »

I've been noticing an odd pattern with vaginal discharge and masturbation recently.. basically if I finger myself, my discharge gets a bit green and thicker and there's more of it and it smells a little off, but it only lasts for about a day after fingering myself and then it goes back to normal. I had some problems with a UTI about 6 months ago and went on antibiotics for it and it all seemed fine but I can't but wonder if that has something to do with this as I've only noticed this problem since getting a UTI.

First time I noticed my discharge going weird, I immediately called my doctor and they gave me a vaginal swab to do but that came back normal and then my discharge went back to normal so I assumed it was all fine... I make sure my hands are clean before masturbating, and I pee afterwards and there's no burning or anything, and it always seems to go back to normal after more or less a day, so I dunno.
(I'm also too scared/embarrassed/ashamed to talk to my doctor more about it or tell my parents so that doesn't help) ok sorry for the ramble and thank you

I'm so sorry that you feel embarrassed about this!

Greenish and a smell that is a little off are both often signals of a bacterial imbalance or infection. That's nothing to be ashamed of: the vagina has a need for a quite particular balance of good bacteria and pH and yeast, and it's so easy for it to get thrown off even when you're doing all the right basic things. This may be about the UTI, sure, but it also may be -- and is more likely to be -- about the antibiotics you took for the UTI.

Either way, I'd strongly encourage you to see a doctor again. If this one doesn't feel good for you, might there be any sexual health clinics in your area you could go instead where you might feel more comfortable?
