Is my gf pregnant or at high chance to get pregnant?

Post by nami rize »

I had my period from March 25–29. My cycle is usually regular, around 28–30 days, and I track it using Flo. Based on the app, my predicted fertile window is April 3–9, with ovulation expected around April 8.

We had intercourse on April 1 and 2, which were cycle days 8 and 9.

On April 1, we used a condom (Durex Extra Safe) together with lubricant, and we also practiced withdrawal even though we were using protection. After sex, we checked the condom using a water test, and there were no holes or leaks.

On April 2, we used a condom again. However, after a few thrusts, I asked him to stop because it was painful, so we stopped penetration early. After that, he asked if he could rub his genital against mine, and I agreed. He mentioned that he was holding his genital (with the condom still on) while rubbing.

When I about to go the bathroom, I noticed that the condom had slipped halfway down his shaft,, but it was still on, just partway hanging off and not left inside me. There was no ejaculation at all because we stopped the activity before he could finish. However, I became worried that precum might have leaked due to the condom being halfway off, we did not do a water test for that condom and for possible squeezing since he's holding his genital while rubbing to mine. He keep telling me there's nothing to worry about since it still protected and not penetrating also because he was holding his genital that's why half of condom slipped.

Usually, during my fertile window or ovulation, I experience egg-white cervical mucus or increased clear discharge. This month, I did not notice the typical egg-white discharge, but around April 8, I felt an increase in clear wetness, though it was not stretchy like usual. Because of this, I am unsure whether I ovulated at that time or earlier.

Right now, I am experiencing sore nipples, lower abdominal cramps, lower back pain, and constipation, which is making me anxious about the possibility of pregnancy.

Thank you in advance for the response.

Hi nami!

Based on what you have said I do not think you're at risk of pregnancy. A condom slipping can be a concern but typically the risk there is either 1) not catching the ejaculation or 2) the semen spilling inside of the vagina. Pre-cum can contain small amounts of sperm cells but considering the condom was still partially on and he didn't ejaculate inside of you I think any risk there is extremely low.

Hello nami rize, welcome to the boards! Adding to what Becky said--which I agree with--you may find it helpful to check these articles out:
- The Pregnancy Panic Companion, which will let you know what to do depending on your period cycle
- Can I Get Pregnant, or Get or Pass On an STI From That?
- Who's Afraid of Sperm Cells?
- Let's Dial Down Some (Maybe) Ovulation Freakouts

Additionally, looking up "pregnancy risks," "pregnancy panic," and "am I pregnant" here on the message boards can definitely provide you with some answers, since this is one of the most common questions we get.

Hi again! I'd also like to elaborate on why period apps aren't reliable in telling you when your ovulation happens. There are multiple factors that influence our health--daily activity, mood, stress, diet (as in what you typically eat), and so on. This also influence our bodily functions, including our period cycle. If you've only been inputting your period dates on your period tracking app and nothing else--especially basal temperature and cervical discharge--it won't be able to tell when you're ovulating. This is especially true if you're younger and/or your period isn't regular.
