everytime i go to masterbate i… dry up?

Unread post by humanperson »

i dont know really how to say it but basically any time i got to touch myself, i get dry. for context im a 14 y/o girl. its not that im not horny, i am, and i can feel turned on but then when i go to touch myself it’s like im not anymore. i dont ever specifically feel “wet” either. this is kinda a separate thing but when i do touch myself i doesnt really feel like anything. i’ve tried fingering myself only once before but haven’t again because it felt kinda weird and also didnt feel pleasurable in any way. when i rub my clit it doesn’t feel like anything until i like press hard and then it just feels overstimulating and like too much. when i go to touch myself it’s like all the natural wetness just gets sucked up and im dry. i don’t know if this is normal. i cant get anything like lube or vibrators and it’s also kinda hard for me to feel completely at peace bc i’m in my house while my parents are sleeping in the room over. i try to imagine things to help but it doesn’t really work. anyways, thx

Hi humanperson and welcome!

I want to start by saying you are certainly not alone in this! I think a lot of folks have grand expectations or perceptions about what sex and self pleasure should look/feel like.

Being 'turned-on' or 'wet' is not an on/off switch. Instead, natural lubrication is something that the body often does in 'waves'. What I mean is it makes sense that when you add friction to an area, the movement will cause the liquid to rub away, meaning you can go from feeling wet to more dry.

I am wondering how long you are trying before considering the touch unpleasurable? Masturbation, just like lots of sexual touch, takes time to build up. It may be the case that you need to explore and find out what kinds of touch feel best to you!

I linked some articles from our site that I think could be helpful for you. Would you be open to giving them a read?
