How do I talk to my parents about masturbation and toys
So very recently I bought some toys without my parent knowing and the package got sent through the mail and my parents were wondering about it and I don't know what to say without it making me look weird I know you can do this stuff at any age but I'm only 13 so it seems even more of an awkward conversation that I don't want to have I don't think they would react badly but I don't want them to think of me in another way because of it and I want to talk about so they don't find it on their own is there any good way of going about it?

Hi MRlemon,
I know it feels awkward but you're not doing anything wrong. As you said, people explore masturbation from very young ages and that's perfectly normal.
Have you ever had any conversations with your parents regarding sex/masturbation in the past? Do you have a sense of how they feel about the topic and talking about it with you?

They haven't explicitly said anything negative or positive about it I don't think they would get mad per say but it would be a very awkward situation and I haven't really brought it up other than when I had homework for sex ed I just don't want to bring it up and they think of me differently is there a way I could discreetly start conversation without just being like " Hey mom dad I touch myself do you care?" It wouldn't sound like that but you know what I mean

Re: How do I talk to my parents about masturbation and toys
Hi MRIemon,
I wanna start by saying that I don't see why you NEED to tell them. If they ask you specifically about the packages, then a conversation needs to be had but otherwise I'm not seeing why you would need to.
If you are desiring to have a larger conversation about sex with them, then it may be helpful to ask them simply how they'd feel talking about sex. Maybe let them know you have some questions. Sharing an article from here may also be a good way to start!
Does that answer your question alright?
