Virginity what even is it?

Post by MRIemon »

I've heard so many things about it. Like "you only lose your virginity if you have vaginal intercourse" or"if you've masturbated then you've lost your virginity" so I just want to know what's true. I don't necessarily care one way or another but I'm just wondering since I've heard so many different things.

Hi MRlemon! There isn't one true definition of what "virginity" is, because it's not something that's set in stone. There's no definite indicators of it in anyone's bodies or minds. Some people think they've only lost their virginity after having vaginal intercourse. Others think any kind of sex, even masturbation/solo sex, counts. But these standards often put unrealistic expectations on people, especially those who are raised and socialized as women and girls.
